I taste you on my lips and I can't get rid of you so I say damn your kiss and the awful things you do --
He was terrified, for a moment, that Mirun was going to try to push him away. Sure, if the other wanted his space he would give it to him, he just... really didn't want to. Now that he was over the initial shock this whole idea was rather terrifying. Had Death said two kids? Was that going to hurt? ...come to think of it, how was this even going to work? Gods, even the pregnancy was scary, let alone the two of them trying to raise children once they were here.
But it would be the two of them, Mirun promised that and Raphael believed him. As long as he had his other half to help him he could make it through this... he hoped. Feeling the other's arms tighten around him was all the reassurance he needed, and the tears slowed to a stop as he snuggled into his lover's lap, sniffling quietly. "I... alright. Sssorry. I'm... I'm o-okay." Actually, at this point he was feeling rather embarrassed- he was usually not a crier, where had that even come from? This was going to suck. He clung to Mirun a little tighter, feeling weak and vulnerable now that his perception of the way the world worked was shattered once again. He hadn't felt this way since he'd lost his mortal life and become a God- and even then it was Mirun who helped him pick up the pieces, wasn't it? He didn't know what he'd do without his other half to lean on.
Which led him to yet another matter to discuss. "You're... g-going to be moving in with me, then, right?" He wasn't even positive that was a good idea- there had to be a reason that they still lived in their respective temples rather than with each other, even if he couldn't particularly think of it right now- and come to think of it, that couldn't hurt Death, could it? Huh. But he wasn't going to be doing this alone, and he didn't want to raise their children in two separate households, even if their parents were still together. "...because we're n-not raising our ch-ch-children in the Temple of D-death. I love you, sssweetheart, b-but." He still couldn't find the motivation to pull back and look his lover in the eyes; he was perfectly content to rest his head on the other's shoulder, snuggling into him with no regard to how his creatures were beginning to gather, casting the pair wary looks. Everything was going to be just fine, they'd see.

The warmth from Raphael was comforting, making Mirun's emotions boil down to nothing but love and affection. He nuzzled Raphael's hair, breathing in the scent with a happy purr, feeling his own confidence flooding back to him. Gently, Mirun rubbed Raphael's back, trying to comfort the other too. Wait, if Raphael was pregnant then.... yup, Mirun would treat him like a glass doll. Something to cherish more than he already did because his love needed the best conditions and the best food. "I'll cook you all homemade meals, love," Mirun purred out, "and tend to all your needs during this special time." So Mirun was practically selling himself as a slave to his love. He was fine with that. That was good.
He stopped short at the next comment. He stared at Raphael's head, before focusing his gaze onto the garden. Wait.... he would be near plants. Living plants. All his plants were dead and while it was as depressing as hell, he liked it that way. More or less. He could almost feel the live plants taunting him. Mocking him. Asking to be murdered by being so bright and happy all the damn time. Only Raphael was allowed to do that. And Alfredo. Technically, the corgi was supposed to be a hell hound but again, Mother Nature was a cruel mistress and just shoved an adorable puppy at Mirun to be his.... scary.... dog. The warning of the Grim Reaper.... yes, because that's what people thought when they saw a damn corgi. Anyway....
"Um," he said, giving a timid smile at nothing, running his fingers through Raphael's hair. Well, he didn't want to leave his temple abandoned. He had lived there for so many years. Let's see.... he was about thirty two when he died, and he had been doing this job for... a few good thousand years. He just liked this island cause all the crazy things happened here. Then again, he wouldn't even want the kids to grow up with one parent there and the other gone most of the time, or having to do the divorced parent trade where they swapped kids. "W-we'll see?" he said, giving a timid laugh. "I mean, I might kill your plants, since I kinda can't stop that..." already he knew the grass he was sitting on was probably dead and spreading. Well, he was sure Raphael didn't mind a patch of grass but this beautiful garden?
As he was thinking, he saw Alfredo come back out of the jungle of plants, covered in dirt and leaves. The corgi was blissfully unaware that anything was wrong, and went to go pester Mozart, or snorted fire at him, having shifted into a Rathalos then. Mirun was at a loss of what to do when it came to living together.

There, see, they were already feeling better. There wasn't anything in the world that a good hug couldn't fix, and that back rub felt absolutely wonderful. Maybe being pregnant wouldn't be totally terrible- everything Mirun was promising certainly sounded wonderful, in any case. Having his loving boyfriend dote on him sounded pretty awesome, actually, and bringing new life into the world... They were going to be parents. Which was its own panic attack, obviously, but at least there was some happiness in it as well. Besides, it was so comfortable in Mirun's lap, he had a hard time imagining that anything could go wrong. Everything would be fine, and then they'd have two wonderful children, and-
and then Mirun stumbled over his answer to where they'd be living and that lovely illusion shattered. Mirun stuttering was just plain wrong, and he didn't want to make his love uncomfortable, and of course he didn't want his fellow God's temple to fall into disrepair, but- "But Miiiiruuuun." He whined and nuzzled his lover's neck, a massive pout already on his face. "Th-that doesn't matter. I can h-heal them again." Or transplant his plants to a different location for safekeeping and make a rock garden. A change was always good, and raking gravel was supposed to be comforting or something. Maybe he could take up feng shui. Besides, he loved Mirun to pieces, but he was not living in that dreary place- but he digressed.
"Y-yeah, we can... we can make it work." He leaned back a bit so he could look into Mirun's eyes, purring happily. "Besides, w-wouldn't it be nice to be able to sleep together for once?" Oh, sure, one of them would stay the night every once in a while, but truly living together? There were so many snuggles to be had! "The plants don't matter, darling-" well they did, hence the rock garden, but- "but these are our... our children we're talking about. We can m-make it work, right?"

Blue eyes narrowed at the taunting plants. They thought they were sooo cool living with Raphael. Well Mirun would show them one day. Maybe put a goat here or- wait, no, this was Raphael's garden. He blinked a few times, trying to ignore the urge to make that taunting rose wither where it sprouted. He grumbled a bit at Raphael's words, giving a smile at his lover when the other looked at him. Sleeping together did sound nice, and someone would have to make sure Raphael didn't try to drink or smoke, and someone would have to satisfy any cravings he had and cook the meals. Yet he didn't want to leave his own home without someone there to look after it. Well, Rhyme & Reason had been showing up to clean up a few times so maybe she would like to look after it.
"If you're sure you don't mind me living with you. I mean, Cookie and Maestro are sometimes jerks... and the garden... and do you have a big kitchen? I need to be able to cook for you if you have cravings. Oh, and you need to be able to deal with not smoking or drinking for the duration of your pregnancy, which is about two hundred eighty days." He was already fawning over his love, purring when he hugged the other tightly. So it seemed like he was moving in. This would be interesting. Wait...
"There's only one problem... I don't want to relocate all the hourglasses, so I'll have to work outside of the home mostly." So it seemed he would only be around when work was being kind to him. Eh, just like he was living on his own except now he got to fawn over Raphael more than usual. That was always a plus.

Hmm. Yeah, that... could be a problem. Maybe this was the reason that they'd never lived together before; this was going to be a pain. But the idea of going through a pregnancy without his lover by his side was just unthinkable, the universe could just deal with it. There would be some obstacles, sure, but that was to be expected when the God of Life and the God of Death fell in love. "Of courssse I won't mind, sweetheart. We'll make it work, you'll sssee. I can d-deal with your pets, mine are... a work in progress too." Hopefully Mirun didn't mind that he was currently trying to house train an alien puppy. The kitchen comment had him pausing to think a bit- he honestly didn't stop to cook too often, he usually preferred grabbing snacks from his various fruit trees than actually sitting down for a true meal- but though it was rarely used to its full potential his kitchen still worked. Probably.
And though he tried to hide it, he couldn't help the slightest flinch at the mention of his lover's job. "Yeah, no, that... isn't a problem." He wasn't having any weird death devices in his house, this was perfectly fine with him. "We'll be just like a real family, you'll see- you can... w-work during the day, and then you can come back here when you're done. I'll take care of the house and the pets and everything, and-" Oh, he was rambling, wasn't he? Whoops. He was just so excited, he could hardly contain himself. He kissed Mirun, hard, purring happily. "I'm ssssorry I freaked out, it's just... overwhelming, yeah, but- Mirun, we're going to be parents." Oh, he had so much to do- he better get started on relocating his garden, then, and he'd have to tell his pets that they'd be having company- where had Saggezza been, anyway? and he hadn't seen Fluffy in a while, he'd probably have to let the overprotective monster know that Mirun was a friend- and he better get started right now.
He jumped to his feet, eager to get started- and promptly began to sway, the sudden change in elevation making his head spin. "Mmm, or, maybe I can... uh, hmm. Ssssit down a m-minute longer. Y-yeah." He stumbled and threw a hand out toward the other, trying to steady himself. Gods, maybe this wasn't going to be as easy as he had hoped.

So it seemed everything would be fine. An effort, and a trial, sure, but fine. They could make it work, for their relationship and for the kids. Mirun was willing to work harder during the day to finish his job. Sleep was a luxury for him, he didn't really need it (being on the border of life and death, life because he liked keeping his skin and health, death because his heart only beat once every few hours). So he could skip sleep to care for Raphael and the kids and all. This creatures would need a talking to, though. Mozart and Maestro only allowed Mirun to feed or wash them, so they would need a huge talking to. Sierra would be alright, as an owl, she could just hunt the rodents and all, and she loved pets from everyone. Alfredo was.... Alfredo. Then Cookie would need some obedience lessons. Not everything was as big as he was, so he played a little rough.
Mirun smiled and pulled Raphael back down when the other reached out, hugging him tightly. "I'll get some placed ready for the kids, cribs and such, while stocking up on food. You just take it easy. If you need me for anything, just call me." It was true, being Death meant Mirun had to be ready at a moment's notice to collect souls and answer summoning, so his love calling him wouldn't be a problem. Unless someone figured out how to make a summoning circle, Mirun couldn't get out of that very easily. Not until he did what the mortal wanted in a deal or something similar. "I'll be sure to tell Mozart not to fight with Fluffy," Mirun added, glaring at Mozart, the creature glaring back. "So, have you thought about names? There are two children."
He didn't care if they were a boy, a girl, two boys, or two girls, he was just so excited. His dream was finally coming true. He could make up for all the pain he suffered from his father by being the best father he could be. Did that make Raphael a mother? Eh, they could both be daddies. That was fine.

Yeah, see? Everything was going to be fine, his Mirun said so. They had so much to do- he'd have to get his temple cleaned up, for starters, if his lover was moving in. He'd have to make arrangements for all of the pets, make sure his kitchen still actually worked, relocate all of his plants- come to think of it, that was going to take a while. He could at least move most of the house plants and the things closer to the temple. Oh, and probably his rarer specimens too- he didn't want to think about how much work it had taken to get that damned blue rose bush to grow, if Mirun accidentally killed it there was going to be a problem- and, well, maybe the matter of cleaning the house had first priority. That was... kind of embarrassing, actually. People often took the level-headed God for someone who'd keep rather organized, but when one reigned over life in all its unpredictability one learned to be wary of rules and systems. Besides, though some Gods- Death, for example- had specific tasks, all he really had to do was... live. His magic was more of the passive sort; just by existing he kept things in balance, though he did occasionally interfere in matters of conservation and the like. Which... where had he been going with this? Oh, right; Mirun saying that he'd take care of everything. "Don't be sssstupid, darling, I can take care of the house and food and things. You have w-work to do." He wasn't the type to sit idly by and let others wait on him; he was pregnant, not crippled, thank you. What was he supposed to do, anyway, lie around on the couch all day? He didn't think so. He didn't do damsel in distress, thank you very much. Distress, sure, but by the gods not even his lover was going to see him damseling. "...well, in any c-c-case. I'll... have a word with Fluffy as well. I'm sure things will be fine." Even as he spoke the ground seemed to rumble, though the creature didn't appear. It was just... reminding Mirun that if he hurt Raphael there would be consequences. Yeah. Not that the God of Life was feeling anything but optimistic; he felt like he didn't have a care in the world, peacefully curled up in his lover's lap (or maybe he called for a more serious term? he was the father of Raphael's children, after all). And, oh, the children- he started a bit at the mention of names, looking a bit sheepish. "I, uh... Dunno. Since we don't know... genders and st-stuff." Or did they, and Mirun was keeping that information from him, too? Well, in any case, it didn't matter for now; they had plenty of time before they had to worry about that. This time was more about the two of them, starting their lives well and truly together. YOU'VE got me worse than NICOTINE

Mirun smiled and purred in glee. Ah, this was going to be amazing. Sure they had a lot to do, Mirun had to rearrange his schedule and the like, then get to work helping Raphael clean and the like (honestly, Mirun hadn't seen much of Raphael's temple, but he was sure he would freak out at the disorganization. His temple was dirty in the sense there were old plants and he hated cleaning, but he would be damned if it wasn't organized). The rumble from the ground took Mirun out of his thoughts and he glared at it. Lay a claw on me and you'll life will be next, Fluffy, he thought bitterly. As in defiance, even if Fluffy couldn't see them (well, Mirun didn't know if he could or not but-) he snuggled Raphael more.
"I'll help you clean, after I move a few things over. Alfredo won't sleep unless he has his torn up blanket," he mused. As much as he would like to stay in Raphael's temple and kill grass and snuggle his love, he felt something pulled at the back of his head, like a sullen reminder. "I think someone just did a drunk bet with a rooster," he muttered more to himself. "I never like those ones. So messy." He ignored the pulling and buried his face into the crook of Raphael's neck, giving a whine.
