Traveling
I. Groups of Five
You are allowed to travel with other members in groups of five. If you want to capture or battle something, you must be with at least one other person if not three or more. Most threads will have two or more, for just social purposes.
II. Travel everywhere and anywhere
For our site's purpose, you can go anywhere you want for social threads or for battling/capturing creatures. If you wish to battle/capture, then please mind all the battle rules. Nothing is too strictly enforced, but we hope you will be decent people and follow them. If staff catch you breaking the rules, there will be punishments.
Battling
I. power levels
No matter what world you are from, magic in this world keeps your powers under control, so you don't kill everyone. We expect you to follow those rules. Thus, at the beginning of a battling/capture/adventuring thread (minimum two people) you will state your levels using the following guide:
- Low - a low level of power that can maybe kill a squirrel if you aim it right. And, you know, hit the thing.
- Medium - a medium level of power that can prevent you from getting attacked by coconuts and medium sized creatures.
- High - a high level of power that can fend off most large creatures and keep you alive. This also works against coconuts.
You are required to follow that guide and post the power level you will be using in the beginning. Never reuse a power level over and over again. If you use High in one thread, use Medium or Low the next. If staff catch constant repeats of the High or Medium level with no damages to the character, there will be punishments to follow.
II. Success and failures
You don't really need staff to decide this for you. The group can decide. However, it is suggested that you fail at times in your adventuring/capturing thread. As in, get hurt and fail to do what you set out to do at least once. The whole thread can end in a success, but there must be failures while getting there. For rarer creatures in capturing, you are expected to fail more and get at least two to three pages of post before you succeed with your party. With smaller creatures, not so much.
Just keep it realistic and believable and you'll be fine. No worries.
Just avoid the coconuts.
III. Battling members/other characters
Same as above, keep the power levels on equal terms (low versus low, medium versus medium, etc.) and be fair. Decide who will lose and fail later on in the match, get hurt, take some damage, then get on with your anti-coconut-attack life. These battles will be watched more closely by staff.
Capturing/hunting creatures
I. Capturing
Same as battling, you can choose a creature (max of three creatures, all different levels and/or rarities) to hunt and attempt to capture. You can usually succeed, but if there is a question if you should or not due to past attempts, feel free to ask staff to roll for you or decide a yes or no. Just remember to fail every now and then and to get hurt. You can have people join you to hunt as well, even when you want the creature and they don't. Just be realistic and be sure to state your power level in the beginning.
Like, you won't be capturing a Medium level Dragon or Monster with a Low power level unless you have Medium and/or a High power level with you.
II. Hunting Creatures
As mentioned in the IC Rules, you are allowed 6 creatures per character, like 6 Pokemon in Pokemon teams. When you capture them, try to be in the area or region you would expect to find them. Staff will offer a short description in the Creatures FAQ's about each of the ones you can hunt and try to capture, but usually, just spend a few post looking for the darn thing and then fighting it, making it tired, then how you captured it. Taming can be time skipped or something. Just again, be reasonable. Let it get away some times, chase after it, try again, yeah.
The higher level of creature, the harder staff will expect for it to be for you to capture. In the Creatures FAQ's, there should be minimal info on that so you know what to expect what is expected of you.
Oh, and look out for coconuts while on the hunt, k?
