what are Groups?
I. Groups are...
like houses. Whenever someone lands on the island, they are organized into one of the groups or houses that are on the island, to tell what world they are from. Each group can contain a number of different people or even creatures. Your group solely depends on where the character lived before they came to the island. Choose wisely, you can not switch groups.
And take note:
Your FC doesn't have to be a character from that world.
Your FC doesn't have to be a character from that world.
Your FC doesn't have to be a character from that world.
YOUR FC DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A CHARACTER FROM THAT WORLD.
There. Think the point is clear, right?
II. Points
Also, groups will fight over points with the others. These are very easily gained. In the list below, you can see how you can gain points.
- Replying to threads (this requires that you post a link to your thread in the mass thread list so staff can track it. You can rp with people outside your group, of course).
- Advertising (see our advertising challenge for more information).
- Participating in events (some events will be very easy, and if you participate, you get maybe two or even five points per post that matches the event).
Points that are obtained can be used to unlock creatures only available on special occasions or to unlock a certain group of characters called the Gods. Or other slightly-canon-slightly-not positions.
Groups
I. Myths
Those that came from worlds that tended to have fantasy things in it or even supernatural values. Like unicorns, fairies, the dragons that doesn't count as a Legend dragon, trolls, ogres, elves, ya know. Those guys. And gals. Or demons, angels, vampires, werewolves, shape shifters, and other things like that. These guys tend to be a little funky depending on where they came from.
Example: Supernatural, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars (cause aliens, man), Fairy Tales, etc.
II. Legends
Those that grew up fighting or training or living along side mythical creatures such as dragons, monsters, and those things called Pokemon. This group tends to be better at capturing and taming these beast, but also killing them. So the world they come from would be one where dragons, monsters, and Pokemon ran wild.
Example: How To Train Your Dragon, Monster Hunter Games, Okami, Pokemon (games&show), Skyrim, etc.
II. Heroes
From the worlds where the odd powers are very common, and no one freaks out when someone catches fire. Unless they never seen it before but usually they have. Because it just happens. Not everyone is this group is a hero, of course. They could be villains, but the politicians in Owl City thought calling it "Heroes and those Villains" would get too confusing. So villains from those worlds are Heroes, but they are still villains they just share a title, and yeah. Just go with it.
Example: Animanga. Naruto, Bleach, Soul Eater, Tokyo Ghoul, Cowboy bebop (if you choose or something, I mean, they can wake up with a power), Fullmetal Alchemist, FMAB, so on and so forth.
II. Futurama
For those that came from planets with developed technology or seemed more futuristic than other worlds. With hover cars or something like that. Anything that the Coconuts would call 'sci-fi' I suppose you could say, or for our purposes, Futurama.
They are called this because what else were we going to call them? "Higher Beings That Know How To Make A Spaceship Out Of Wire And A Twig"? Maybe, but it took too long to write out so yeah.
Example: Anything from a sci-fi world. Aliens and the like could count here. Or those that travel in space, unless they come from Cowboy Bebop's world. Then either this or Heroes.
II. Coconuts
The group who's occupants come from boring worlds without any magic or powers or the sort. Yet, they may wake up with odd powers when they come to the island. Might be the power to prevent coconut attacks, but you never know.
They are called Coconuts, because where they tend to come from, coconuts don't attack you like here. Ah, what an amazing place that must be.
Example: Human world, real world, worlds without magical powers or abilities. Could count as normal humans from Superhero worlds. Or someone like Batman cause he's a normal human. He's just filthy rich.
II. Gods
The rarest of creatures to appear, these guys are literally Gods. And Goddesses. No, sorry, Demigods do not exist. Gods do, however. They control some element in nature or something that is a great asset or fault of man or something totally random. Did you know there is a God of Sneezing? Yeah. Think about that for a while. Either way, this group is only available as rewards for the members of the group that wins the weekly or monthly tournament.
Keep in mind:
When you RESERVE a God position (can only be reserved during an event that offers the group or as a reward for House Points), that God MUST be your next character as long as the group Gods is still available! If you can't make the God by the time the event/reward ends, then you are free to make other characters. Yet as soon as the group is open, you MUST make that God right away!
