Ivan Romanov

When someone first looks at Ivan, they see a lot going on. Weird hair, tattoos, piercings... but once they talk to him, the find he isn't all he seems to be. He's rather quiet, not usually making any noise and likes to be alone on most occasions (like his snow leopard brethren), and he tends to make cold jokes or say things someone will laugh at, but he will pretend he didn't say anything. He's also rather sarcastic, as well as sassy. He doesn't care if someone is a God or a poor man, he treats everyone the same and will talk to them the same. Respect is something he shows, but in his own unique way: talking.

Typically, he's silent and won't say anything even when asked a question, he will give subtle answers, like a nod, a shake of the head, a raise of an eyebrow, a glare, or a shrug. When he does talk to someone, it means they are either A.) disrespecting him and he is telling them in his own fashion to show respect or they are about to get their face clawed off by an angry pocket dragon, or B.) he likes them and feels comfortable enough to actually use the vocal cords he was born with. It is one or the other. There is no in between.

In fact, being asked to even take a walk with him or if someone would like to pet Iceland or Zhou is a sign that he is very comfortable near them. He likes to travel alone, save for his creatures, but when someone joins him, it is typically because he actually wants them there. Otherwise, he'll ask to e left in peace.

The best way to get close to him? Bug him. Just cling with all your might and eventually he will warm up. Maybe give him a roasted salmon or something. Or say Iceland's fur looks very pretty.
Oh, and he's asexual, but he still believes in relationships, of course. As long as you are like his best friend. Otherwise, you have no luck.

All Ivan remembers from his old home are dragons, other mythical creatures, and magic. He was born to a littler of four kittens, two lion shifters, one tiger, and then him. The snow leopard. it was cold, his mother was a snow leopard, his father was a lion. That was that. Eventually he grew up, then he met his pocket dragon Russia, got his cat Iceland, and made friends with a baby Saber Tooth Cat when he was four. The only thing he remembers after that is showing up here with a knowledge of tattoos and serving at a bar. He figured he used to be a tattoo artist, since he liked to doodle designed and had a real talent with ink. He also figured he used to own or run a bar, since he was good at that. So he brought those two skills with him and used them to help make some money after waking up on the island.

He did remember a soft voice, then a falling sensation, before he woke up as if something was pressing onto his very heart, about to make it burst. He couldn't shift, and gasped for breath. The panic of not being able to change made him pray to any God to help and, of course, it was Death. Thinking he was about to die, Ivan was surprised Death had offered him a deal (one that Ivan signed in blood in sheer panic). He obtained the ability to use the magic on the island to shift and survive like normal, as well as a power and a small necklace with a miniature version of his own hourglass. It wasn't too bad. The power took a while to get the hang of, but soon, Ivan could block it out when he wished and went to go find a place to open a tattoo shop and a bar.

He also got Lucifer from Death a little later that day,the God smiling brightly, shoving the reigns in Ivan's hands, and leaving as quickly as he had came. Ivan is grateful to Death for saving his life and giving him a pretty cool power that was as annoying as hell, but the horse he was not happy for, and he mentioned it every time he gave Death a prayer. "Oh Lord Death, thank you for saving my tail and stuff, but please take this damn horse back. Yours truly, Ivan". He has yet to hear back. At least Ivan was left to his own devices and lives peacefully in the high north at his bar and tattoo shop. It is a really out of the way place, but he wouldn't want it any other way. Besides, everyone likes a warm place to visit when they are about to freeze to Death. Even the Grim Reaper stops by when he has to collect yet another soul. Given, it isn't to take the horse back.

Ivan sometimes works in Owl City as well, sometimes operating a tattoo parlor there or being a 'guest' tattooist. He still loves his solitary home in the north though. Snow Leopards are solitary creatures, after all.

-Miniature Hungarian Thorntail ; Russia (medium)

-A rather sweet thing, Russia has a very kind personality for those that spend time to get to know him. Otherwise, he's pretty bad. He is very protective over Ivan and his other creatures. He can produce a very small flame, enough to light a candle or spark a small campfire, but otherwise, he only breaths out smoke, trying to be intimidating when things go from bad to worse. He likes to think he is as large as the normal Hungarian Thorntails, but he's not. He's about the size of a baby attacking coconut.
He can be found riding on Ivan's shoulder or in his pocket.


-Norwegian Forest Cat ; Iceland (low)



-Quiet and solitary, Iceland will keep to himself unless he feels he can trust  someone. When someone feeds him, they typically gain his trust right away, and will sit in their lap and meow for attention all day long. He isn't much of a fighter, but he prefers to be outside compared to inside. So he is sent outside with Ivan's larger cat. Iceland doesn't do well with other cats, either, so, besides Ivan's larger cat, he is the only cat he possess (also besides Ivan himself). Iceland gets most of the attention and is thoroughly groomed daily and given only gourmet meals. Anyone that harms this cat or makes him uncomfortable will easily become an enemy of the easy-going Ivan.

-Friesian ; Lucifer (low)


-A 'gift' from Death, Lucifer is an unholy Friesian that, for some reason, talks when his input isn't welcome. Unholy meaning: he's an annoying as hell, thus his name. The reasoning behind Death shoving this horse at Ivan is that, and Ivan quotes "I don't want it, it belonged to the Death before me. You have it. Bye!". And thus, Lucifer travels with him. Talking, giving horrid commentary, but there is one thing Ivan can't deny: this horse is perfect for travelling in the snow. Lucifer has a thick hide after being the old death's horse (yes, Lucifer is still alive, it is weird like that) and loves the cold climates. He lives in the barn near Ivan's shop, even though he sometimes finds his way into the bar and shop.

-Saber Tooth Cat ; Zhou (high)


-Zhou is a very large, very powerful Saber Tooth Cat. he is very protective of Ivan and the other creatures he has, and tends to be the head of the creature. He is also Ivan's body guard and guard of the bar and shop. late at night, when the snow is falling, some of the clients will see a giant cat wander by the window, patrolling the land Ivan owns and chasing off anyone that wishes to do harm or has ill will. Any fights in the bar are quickly broken up by Zhou, usually Iceland or Russia calling him into the bar or shop to stop it. He is very careful with his power and claws, however, and won't let himself kill or seriously injure someone unless Ivan orders it. His biggest job is disarming the fighters and sending them outside, no matter how cold or bad the weather. During the summer, he stays inside and sleeps on a giant feather and fur bed Ivan made for him, usually with Iceland curled up right next to him. When travelling, Zhou keeps close to Ivan and Lucifer, and also makes sure Russia has enough small song birds to eat.
Forget about buying food, too, Zhou here hunts everything when it comes to meat. On average, he has the bend down to get through the bar door, and has to suck in his belly he is so large. He towers above most grown mean, even those who are 6'6''. His head is about the width of full grown rhino, and his fangs as long as seven inches, with a width of five inches.
He is a very loving cat, and those that he loves will usually get their head pulled down into a loving hug from him with him a purring mess.

He has had his tattoos for years, and oddly enough, you can see a faint outline of them when he is in his snow leopard form.
His black and red eyes are what he was born with, and are common among his species as a sign of being a shifter. Those born with normal eyes tend to be born normal humans that are then thrown out to be eaten by wild animals.


Shifting - Snow Leopard Shifter

Ivan has always been a shifter, even before he came to the island. He grew up around dragons and the like, so being able to shift was a lot more helpful than having to run on two legs. His shift is odd in the fact he doesn't end up ripping apart all his clothes. It takes place in more of a magical shift, where his human self like his clothes and all are 'trapped' in an alternate dimension. Then when he shifts to a human, his animal side is trapped in that same space. It can be locked, his shifting powers, if someone controls enough magic, but he tends to keep his shifting powers to himself.

When he's working, he will sometimes sleep in his shift on the counter of the bar, and if someone ask where he is, he will get up and go shift in another room and come back out, trying to keep it a secret. He needs to shift often, however, or his ability will become more painful than it is pleasurable.

With this power comes the ability to understand animals. Of course, some animals speak for themselves....



Hour Glass Perception

This power is on the border of a curse and a blessing. Upon arriving on the island, the heavy burst of new magic was about to lock his shifting powers, which is more painful than people would think. In a fit of panic, he prayed to any God to help him and it just to happened to be the Grim Reaper. Thankfully, Ivan was given the ability to use the new magic to shift, while paying a price. He can see someone's clock if he focuses or wants to. This clock appears above their heads, numbers ticking down. He can see every number but his own, and sometimes uses it to help people avoid dying. It is difficult to tell when someone needs to die or not, but sometimes it is easy to tell, like being pulled away from a speeding cart or something.

This is called Hour Glass Perception. With this comes the ability to also read hourglasses accurately and give a death date. This isn't really worth much, except Death gave him a miniature hourglass necklace that has Ivan's own sand in it. Almost as a 'welcome to your doom' present. He uses it to help him tell when he is about to be in some trouble, and to make accurate life decisions. Alongside this, he also uses his perception to tell people what they should avoid when serving some alcohol or giving a tattoo. Not like he really cares about helping people, but Karma is a bitch according to Mr. Death.
