It was a rather boring day when you looked at it. Nothing was going on that was of major importance and everything itself seemed to be moving rather slow. So, thanks to slow business, Ivan was able to shift in comfort and nap on the bar counter, where he prepared the drinks sure. There was a sign on the door that gave a warning of cats, so everything should be fine. The blue eyes of his shift form began to slowly close as he dozed off, a long fluffy tail swaying side to side over the edge of the counter. It was getting chilly outside, thank the Gods. Cold enough that soon, Ivan would turn the heat up as high as it would go and load the several fireplaces filled with wood he collected while travelling around the forest and mountains.
He lived in his combined bar-tattoo parlor, on the third floor. The first floor was the bar, where he served hot and cold food (salads, sandwiches that took minimal effort and soups with bread), and of course, alcohol. All kinds, from hard liquor to the gentler stuff, to hand crafted, and wine. He also served hot chocolate and warm milk for any kids and put off a certain area for them while the adults did their adult drinking. Ivan honestly didn't care if parents brought their kids in here. He didn't really think it was the best parenting, but he was raised by two large cat shifters so who was he to argue? The bar itself was a rather homey place, brightly lit even though the lighting seemed a bit dark and dull, but that was to be expected when someone like Ivan had sensitive eyes in his human form. There were stools at the bar, chairs and tables for other places and three fireplaces in all with a lounge area he could clearly see from the bar that was up against the wall. Near the largest fire place was a giant bed made of furs and stuffed with feathers, for his Saber Tooth Cat, but Zhou was out and about right now.
There was a staircase near the back of the place, that was spiraling up to the second floor where he kept his tattoo parlor. It was general, with examples of his work on the walls, a comfortable chair, a record player, and with various needles and different inks organized by color. He tried to make it relaxing with a few pictures of cats, but not everyone liked that. Oh well. It was important for the artwork of the tattoo that the recipient of the art is still and relaxed. Or else Ivan would mess up, and that would anger him more than the client, mostly because his work had been messed up.
The staircase kept rising to the third floor where he lived. No one typically went up there, so it was fine. What was more interesting was the barn rather close to the three-story establishment in the middle of the snowy forest. There was only one horse that lived in there full-time, but it was open for strangers to sleep in or to let their mounts rest for the night. No one slept in the bar. Ivan didn't run an inn, although he should consider it, but people were allowed to stay in the barn, and if they are sick, they might be able to sleep in the bar for the night. Just because Ivan isn't heartless. Either way, he was content with slow business. It wasn't like he really used the money for much more than paying taxed and the like.
His ears perked up when Iceland nestled down near him, giving a meow, Russia already nestled on Ivan's furry head. Ah, this was the life.

[attr="class","scrolly"] he was not built for the cold. he was not built for the heat. hell, he was not even built for the city. he was meant to be kept indoors and never be allowed to leave, but the world did not work like that. so, why was he currently in one of the coldest areas of the damn island? because he was bored, and when he was bored, he explored without much of a care as to where he was going. this made him get lost, and with being lost meant wandering around aimlessly until civilization was found. sure, the smartest solution would have been to have flown out on samurai, but the pesky dragon was having too much fun chasing the clouds to even care about the well-being of its master. yuki let out a puff of air, watching as it condensed before his very eyes. it was that cold outside. he was trembling, his cats were trembling, his pants were wet... yes, he was wearing pants today. the kimono he often wore had gotten filthy over the past few days, so it was time to retire it until he could wash it. too bad his only other outfit consisted of a pair of skinny jeans with holes at the knees, a t-shirt, and a hoodie, aka the outfit he washed up in. he really needed to get something else to wear, but, without a temple, he could not get the offerings to buy anything. it wasn't like anyone would give their money to a god who found joy in the suffering of others as he forced them into skimpy outfits to fight crimes in. hehe. he should probably also get a haircut as well. with how long his hair was, it was nearly dragging in the snow the entire trek throughout the frigid area, and he could already feel the weight of his hair pulling down on him with the clumps of snow it happened to pick up despite his efforts. " mrroww!" his attention was captured away from his own misfortune to the munchkin cat. the smallest feline had his paws dangling in the air as the caracal struggled to keep him out of the snow. she strained her head up to the sky, and it was obvious she was growing tired of carrying the short-legged cat. a sympathetic smile graced his lips as he bent down, scooping up the grey kitten which the wild cat released as soon as the brunet had a stable hold on the feline. mau squirmed in his arms, letting out a few more calls of his namesake while clawing at the air toward a building not far off. finally. " c'mon; hopefully they don't mind the intrusion." oh, what did he care? he would just flaunt off his title to at least be able to dry off and warm up. the god and his feline companions trudged through the snow toward the building, and the man paused just outside the door. his eyes scanned over the sign on the door, and he could not help the grin that stretched across his face. the brunet was quick to open the door, though it was his larger cats the forced the door open in the end, spilling in to escape the cold. the god stood there for a moment, waiting for the others to enter, before stepping inside and closing the door behind him. his trembling only seemed to worsen by the dramatic change in temperature. his own shivering did not seem to register in his mind, however, as his attention was quickly drawn to the munchkin cat in his arms. he brought the small cat close to his chest, sharing as much of his body heat as he could spare while looking around the interior of the building. his felines had already claimed various spots throughout the first room, and they busied themselves with cleaning off before clumping together to warm up. he remained quite while looking around, his eyes quickly being drawn to the snow leopard on the counter along with a large cat-- Norwegian forest cat, he reminded himself--and... a tiny dragon... eh, he's seen stranger sights. mau began squirming in his arms again, and the brunet had no choice but to put the shivering kitten on the bar counter. considering there were already cats on there, he could only assume the health inspector hated them. the munchkin cat toddled over to the snow leopard, slipping twice. " mmau!" the small feline squeaked as he slipped a third time, this time remaining where he fell with his hindquarters raised into the air, wide eyes staring at the small dragon on the snow leopard's head. Ears twitched at the sound of a door opening, blue eyes slowly opening to study those that entered the bar. Ivan figured he would have to go, as some said, 'get the owner', when really he was just going to shift back to his normal looks, yet something was strange about this woman. He liked the cats though. His gaze ignored the female and went to the kitten on the counter, watching it with interest as it seemed to stare at Russia. The snow leopard gave a small growl, Russia raising his head to roar at the kitchen, jumping onto the counter to sniff at it. The kitten was larger than the dragon, but Russia be damned that was going to stop him from trying to stop him from trying to be the dominant creature here.
Iceland, however, was not happy. The fluffy cat's cur spiked as it yowled at the other cats, ears flattening down on his head as he sat up, eyes narrowing at the kitten, before focusing on Ivan. The snow leopard looked at the cat and heaved a giant sigh, standing up and jumping off of the counter before galumphing with a rather lazy gait to one of the back rooms. There, she shook his fur and yawned, shifting back with the magic he had become accustomed to with his time here. Not as good as the magic back home, of course, but it would do. He wavered a bit, slipping on one of his leather jackets, which hung at his elbows, he left the room and went behind the bar, stroking Iceland's ears to calm the cat. His black eyes focused on the stranger. He supposed he should ask what he always did. "Can I get you anything?" He pulled at Russia's tail when the dragon tried to bite the kitten's nose for no reason, making the dragon growl at him but settle down.
So much for the peaceful day of nothing but cat naps. At least these strangers weren't going to freeze to death. He would feel sorry for the cats, mostly. He didn't really care about anyone else. He mostly wished Iceland could get along with other cats. It didn't matter, though, as soon as Zhou came back from his territory patrol, Iceland would settle down with the giant cat.

[attr="class","scrolly"] the exotic cats huddled closely together, two of them minding their own business while the third watched the felines and dragon on the table. the caracal kept her ears perked and pale green eyes wide. a large paw pressed against her shoulder, jolting her out of her trace, and she whipped her head around to look at the offending margay. the smaller feline only stared back before leaning forward to rub his cheek against her. as soon as he went back to cleaning and drying himself off, though, the rusty colored cat turned her gaze back to the counter top, this time not allowing anything to break her gaze. grey fur fluffed up as the dragon left the head of the much larger feline. the munchkin cat stared with wide eyes that began to go crosseyed from focusing on such a small creature in front of him. his hindquarters finally reached the ground, and his tail flicked back and forth behind him. " mrraow!" he let out another mewl, tilting his body to the side as he lifted up one of his paws, only to hesitate with the paw raised above the dragon's head. the kitten reached toward slowly, retracting the risen paw as if he had second thoughts, before repeating the process a few times. he let out a few more mrraow! maow! a soft chuckle echoed behind the grey kitten as the brunet claimed a seat in one of the bar stools. while he was very amused by the antics of the munchkin cat and tiny dragon, the snow leopard interested him just a little bit more. as the larger feline left, he could feel magic pool from within the next room. magical beings always intrigued him, especially when that magic came from a contract. or, you know, a cat. the man who came out afterward was even more intriguing. such a person would have been heavily frowned upon back in tokyo, but, hot damn, those were some nice tattoos. his mother would have killed him had he ever voiced such a thought in front of her and his father. oo, even his grandmother. ick. " in such chilly weather, i would love to have a tall glass of warm milk," all lewd meanings implied as he purred out his words, " but, i'm broke." the god let out a heavy sigh, reaching back with both hands to pull back his wet hair and try to fix it into something close to a sloppy bun without being able to see his work. he glanced toward mau and the dragon, watching as the short legged kitten fluffed up even more and leaped backwards as the dragon tried to nip at his nose. this earned a warning growl from the caracal, though she made no move to get up just yet. " sorry to not buy anything, but i am really only here to get my family out of the cold." and himself. he was a godsicle. Ivan listened patiently, pulling Russia back by the tail again, flinging the dragon at Iceland, who caught the little devil in his mouth. Trapping the dragon between his paws, the cat began to groom the little beast, a tiny dragon flailing with pitiful attempts at a full-blown roar like his much larger cousins. Ivan watched the little show, looking back at the woman when she gave her order. He couldn't help but feel like there was another meaning behind those words, but he ignored it. Turning around he got out a milk carton and grabbed Russia, the little dragon growling at him as it began to blow hot air with a little bit of embers at a glass, warming the milk up. "Anything for the cats?" he asked, hating that he was talking so much. At least as soon as he knew he could go back to be quiet and staring at people to make them uncomfortable.
As he placed the glass in front of the woman, he looked at the door, a giant clawing noise coming from it. Without a word, he left the bar and went to the door, opening it for a giant Saber Tooth Cat to stumble in, dragging in some snow with him. The cat raised his massive head at the others, sniffing the air before looking at the woman. With a huff, he walked over to the bed by the largest fire and laid down. His thick fur coat was covered in frost and snow. He wasn't cold himself, but he would be if he didn't dry it all off. Ivan swept the snow back outside with a conveniently located broom and closed the door tightly, before going to get bowl of warm milk, that Russia had to heat up too, for Zhou.
He set the bowl right near the cat's head, petting the ears a few times before Ivan stood up and went back behind the counter, waiting for another order or something similar. Oh wait, the woman might think she has to pay. "No charge," he said, wiping his hands with an old cloth. He stared at the woman curiously. Something was off about her. Any normal human would have frozen to death, so she was not normal. Perhaps she was a shifter like Ivan? Ah, that would be something, but she didn't have the eyes in this human form. He then focused on the other cats and the kitten. They were adorable, but he knew better than to try and pet them with Iceland in the room. Speaking of which, the cat got up, fluffed out his fur after hissing at all the other cats, and jumped off the counter to go curl up next to Zhou, the giant Saber Tooth grooming the other's fluffy fur.

[attr="class","scrolly"] confusion crossed his features when the tattooed man began heating up a glass of milk despite what he had said. he blinked a few times, simply watching the stranger in silence. the only sounds came from the feline in front of him as the munchkin cat mewled for attention, slipping and slidding around on the counter top as he tried to keep his footing. the grey kitten shuffled forward, only to slip. he tried jumping, but he only ended up with his face against the surface of the counter and his rump in the air. mau paused as the glass was set before his master, pushing himself up, despite his short legs only bringing with it half of his body, with his eyes wide. the kitten used his front paws to pull his body toward the glass, straining his head forward as he tried to sniff at the glass, only to be gently nudged away by the god's hand. his confusion never left him, but the brunet tried not to wear it on his face as he watched the bar owner let in a giant... saber tooth. want. no, you already have enough cats. besides, samurai will get jealous if you take in anymore strays that you... just happened to find on the street. ahem. no one ever said his cats were obtained through legal means. he confusion disappeared, replaced with a small smile as the snow leopard spoke up again. free drinks? free warm drinks? yes, please! " thank you," his words were slightly mumbled as he reached out to pick up the cup, testing the heat before bringing it to his lips. he paused, closing his eyes as he took in the warmth, before he took a small sip. and then another. opening his eyes, the brunet looked down at the grey kitten who had finally found his footing, sat down in front of the god, as had turned on the large, round, begging kitten eyes. a smile curled on his lips as he brought the glass down, tilting it slightly, and allowing mau to carefully drink from the warm milk. he glanced over his shoulder at the rest of his clowder, his smiling softening even more. the three had shifted closer and closer to each other, using one another as pillows as they slept. " i do not think they need anything just yet." his eyes turned back to mau as the small feline tried to use the god's arms as support to try and stick his head into the glass. thankfully, he had found out soon enough, and the brunet carefully pushed the kitten back onto the counter and away from the glass, which was then placed on his opposite side. he then proceeded to fuss over the kitten like a mother would, wiping the milk off of the kitten's face, cooing all the while. once he was done, all he had to do was put his arm down to barricade the kitten from getting to the glass once more, lifting his arm whenever mau tried to climb over. " ah, excuse me for barging in unannounced," he paused to glance up at the tattooed bar owner, another smile forming on his face. " i am yuki, god of magic--" -al girls and boys, not that he needed to give his full title and scare off anyone he ever met, " --and you are?" He watched the stranger, and the kitten, itching to reach out and pet the fluffy fur, but he felt Iceland's eyes on him, burning with a dare of 'touch that kitten, go on. Do it and I'll rip your bloody hand off'. So Ivan resisted, instead turning around to fix his own drink. He listened to the sounds from the cats, pouring the vodka into a short class before taking a shot of it. He could feel it burn his throat and in his stomach, but he felt warmer thankfully. Even with three fire places going downstairs and several upstairs, it was still slightly cold. This was one reason he hated his human form but thumbs were helpful.
He perked up when he heard the word Gods. Oh no. He gave an inward groan. Not again. He prayed Death wasn't close behind this one then. Lucifer was bad enough, and so was dealing with the Grim Reaper on occasions, but another God? Honestly? Plus the God of Magic so they probably knew- ... yeah. He glanced over his shoulder, sitting on a further counter behind the bar, one he used to chop fruit sometimes for some of the specialty drinks. "Really?" He asked, his voice bored. "How interesting." He blinked and pondered if he should just give his name or what he was. He clicked his tongue in thought. Well, he used magic to transform and the like, so it wouldn't hurt.
"I'm Ivan Romanov, snow leopard shifter and... yeah." he would leave the blessed/cursed by Death part out. He didn't like that fact very much. No matter how helpful it may be. "So what do I owe the pleasure of being visited by.... you said God. You're a female," he sniffed the air. Yeah, female. Forget about what he was saying. Zhou gave a small growl, shifting on his bed as he rolled over, laying on his back, paws in the air. Iceland settled down on his fluffy chest and went to sleep.
